Final Fantasy XI debuts its revamped Limbus system with its June version update

How low can't you go?

Despite the similar name to certain party games, the revamped Limbus battle system in Final Fantasy XI is not a question of how low you can go. It’s quite the opposite; players who are given entry select a difficulty for the monsters they will fight, and they collect ever-increasing amounts of data based on the size of the player party and the level difference between the players and the monsters. It’s all comprehensively laid out in the June update patch notes, so if you want to enhance and reforge your artifact armor, here’s where you need to start your journey.

The patch notes also contain notes on the most recent Ambuscade update and other improvements, of course, so while Limbus is the centerpiece it’s not the only thing on display. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XIV has a bit longer until its next patch preview, but the game does now have an official presence on BlueSky, so you can assume that said preview will be mirrored on more sites.
